Mr. Stead is a Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners and Head of Australian Private Credit. Prior to joining HPS in 2015, Mr. Stead was Co-Head of Olympus Capital Asia Credit, which focused primarily on private credit investing in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to Olympus, Mr. Stead was a Managing Director and CEO of Fortress Investment Group Australia from 2004 to 2008, where he established and led the office which focused on investing for the Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund. Prior to joining Fortress, Mr. Stead spent 20 years in Investment Banking, including 7 years in Mergers and Acquisitions at Salomon Brothers in New York, and 13 years at Merrill Lynch, including Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Australia and the Asia Pacific region, Co-Head of Investment Banking Japan, Management Committee member of Merrill Lynch Japan Securities, and Vice Chairman of Investment Banking Australia. Mr. Stead holds a BCom and LLB from the University of New South Wales and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
