Mr. Villanueva is a Managing Director at HPS Investment Partners and a Co-Portfolio Manager of HPS US CLOs, the Liquid Loan Fund, and related Separately Managed Accounts. Prior to joining HPS in 2015, Mr. Villanueva was a Senior Analyst at 3i Debt Management US LLC, where he was responsible for the Energy, Utilities, Metals and Telecom sectors. Prior to joining 3i, Mr. Villanueva was an Investment Analyst at Citigroup Global Investments, where he focused on electric and gas utilities along with independent power producers. Mr. Villanueva began his career as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney, where he worked on various equity, fixed income, and Mergers and Acquisitions assignments in the Global Power Group. Mr. Villanueva holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA in Finance, Management and Strategy, and Accounting from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
